Broadband

Broadband is now the standard method of connection to the internet across the UK and is available in almost every household.
Broadband uses your existing telephone to transfer date to your computer at very high speeds allowing you to do much more than just surf the internet, including watching live television and listening to streaming radio.

Types of Broadband.

ADSL & ADSL/MAX (Standard Broadband) – This is by far the most common form of broadband connection and is available from hundreds of service providers across the UK. Speeds can be achieved of upto 24Mb Per Second from some providers depending on your location.

Mobile Broadband – Whilst still a fairly new technology, mobile broadband is quickly becoming very popular. Whilst not as fast as standard broadband, Mobile Broadband requires no wires of any kind, but instead uses a small card that plugs into your computer which in turn pulls data from the mobile phone network at high speeds.

Can I Switch Broadband Providers?

Switching broadband providers in many cases can have several benefits including lower cost and increased speed. Before switching it’s always worth chatting to your existing provider to see if they can offer you a better deal or better price than the one you are about to switch to. In many cases they should atleast be able to match you new providers offer.
The process to switch is very simple, just contact your existing provider and request a MAC code to allow you to switch providers, then order your new service, quoting your existing MAC code. Your phone number will not need to change when switching providers.
